Shandong is a large marine province, with outstanding advantages in marine resources, marine industry and marine science and technology, and is vigorously implementing the construction of a strong marine province. Qingdao is the main node city of the new Asia-Europe continental economic corridor and the strategic pivot city of maritime cooperation in the "One Belt and One Road" strategic plan, and is launching a comprehensive "ocean strategy offensive", striving to build an international ocean city and a global ocean center city.
The East Asia Marine Cooperation Platform is a landmark project to implement the "One Belt, One Road" initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, and is an innovative platform for two-way open cooperation between ASEAN and China, Japan and South Korea advocated by Premier Li Keqiang. The construction of the platform is centered in Qingdao, Shandong Province, and the headquarters of the East Asia Marine Cooperation Platform is set up in Qingdao West Coast New Area. The East Asia Marine Cooperation Exchange Center will be built as the permanent venue and landmark of the platform based on the China Railway-Qingdao Cosmopolitan Exposition.
East Asia Marine Expo is the core section of the forum, with the vision of "building China's first-class national exhibition of the whole industry chain of the ocean" as the target, and is an "international exhibition living room of the ocean industry" integrating technology exchange, product display, results trading, investment attraction and other platform functions. "Since the platform construction was officially launched in 2016, four forums have been successfully held in succession, and a series of significant results have been achieved, which have attracted wide acclaim and positive repercussions in the East Asia region and even the international community.

Among them, the "offline physical exhibition" has a total exhibition area of 60,000 square meters, setting up international cooperation and strategic industry exhibition area, offshore equipment and marine science and technology exhibition area, new infrastructure and new industry exhibition area, international commodities and international consumption exhibition area, marine supporting industry exhibition area, marine fisheries exhibition area and other six exhibition areas, focusing on displaying The "Belt and Road" along the countries, SCO member countries, ASEAN and China-Japan-South Korea (10 +3) and other countries in the field of marine latest achievements, as well as new domestic infrastructure, marine science and technology, marine ecology and other aspects of the new technology, new results, new products. The "Online Virtual Exhibition" created a comprehensive online service platform integrating exhibition, online communication, invitation and negotiation, and live interaction, with nearly 1,000 enterprises (institutions) exhibiting online.
